View from a clearing at appx. 6,600 feet, just off the summit of Mt. Guyot, looking northwest. The light-and-shadow effect of the hoarfrost on the dead fraser firs gives the summit the appearance of an alien world during the cooler months. The Cumberland Plateau, 90 miles to the west, can barely be discerned on the horizon. Image by Brian Stansberry.
