Shahdara

Shahdara, New Delhi is a suburb of Delhi. It consists of old markets. Shahdara is a part of both East and Northeast Delhi. Shahdara has two MCD’s (Municipal council of Delhi) wards. North and South Shahdara are the main wards. Shahdara is an eastern suburb of Delhi. It is one of the stations on the line 1 of Delhi Metro. Its nearby areas are Dilshad Garden, Preet Vihar, Anand Vihar, Jagat Puri, Navin Shahdara, Silam Pur and Bhajan Pura. Shahdara is also divided in two parts Purana Shahdara (Old Shahdara) and Navin Shahdara (New Shahdara). Sometimes people call the whole trans-Yamuna region as Shahdara. Shahdara is one of the suburbs like Dwarka, Rohini, Narela, Bawana, Okhla, Gurgaon, Noida, Sahibabad, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Najafgarh, Mehrauli, Delhi Cantonment, Jasola, Asola and other townships like Janak Puri, Vikas Puri, Mayur Vihar, Mahipal Pur, Ali Pur, Bijwasan and Barwala.
