Shakespeare Quarterly is an academic journal founded in 1950 by the Association of America. It is now under the auspices of the Folger Shakespeare Library. Along with book and performance criticism, Shakespeare Quarterly incorporates scholarly research and essays on Shakespeare and the age in which he worked. It also includes a special section devoted to the latest ideas in Shakespeare scholarship. As a companion to the Quartlery, the Folger Library also publishes the award-winning reference World Shakespeare Bibliography Online, which contains more than 92,000 annotated bibliographical references and several hundred thousand reviews. The editor of Shakespeare Quartlery is Dr. Gail Kern Paster, director of the Folger Library. The World Shakespeare Bibliography Online is edited by Dr. James L. Harner of Texas A&M University.
The journal is published seasonally. Circulation is 3,239 and the average length of an issue is 128 pages.
