Shane Olivea (born October 7, 1981 in Bronx, New York) is an American football player who currently plays offensive tackle for the San Diego Chargers of the NFL. Since being drafted in the 7th round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Chargers, Olivea has started 31 games in 2 seasons with the Bolts. In August of 2006, Olivea signed a 6-year, $20 million extension with the Chargers. The deal currently makes him the sixth highest-paid right tackle in the NFL. Due to his performance and his low draft position, Olivea is now considered to be one of the biggest draft steals in recent years.[1]
[edit] College career
After graduating from Lawrence High School in NY, Olivea played for Ohio State University from 2000-2003. He was a three-year starter and a two-time member of the All-Big Ten second team.
