Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa is the first three-hotel luxury resort for both Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and the country of Oman.
The property comprises the exclusive Al Husn ("the Castle" with 180 suites and guestrooms), Al Bandar ("the Town" with 198 rooms and extensive meeting facilities), and the family-oriented Al Waha ("the Oasis" with 302 rooms). All 680 rooms and suites are sea-facing and overlook a total of 580 metres (1,900 feet) of beach.
Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts' third Middle East hotel. Occupying 124 acres, it is nestled against a stunning backdrop of rugged interior mountains and the spectacular waters of the Gulf of Oman.
It is located 40 minutes from Seeb International Airport and 20 minutes from Ruwi business district. The hotel opened in late 2005 at a cost of 70 million Omani rial.

The hotel has six main restaurants, seven casual dining outlets, three lobby lounges, three private beaches, two bars and a nightclub. In the summer of 2006 it opened its CHI spa facilities.
