Shantae
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shantae is a game created by Matt Bozon, brother of Mark Bozon, for the Game Boy Color. It was produced by WayForward Technologies and distributed by Capcom.
Shantae is a young half genie who must battle the nefarious lady pirate Risky Boots. Shantae can use her ponytail as a whip against enemies and can perform magical dances to change into any of four creatures: a monkey, an elephant, a spider and a harpy .

[edit] Story
The game is set in a quasi-Arabian land called Sequin Land. Risky has stolen a steam engine and now seeks four mystical stones which, along with the engine, can power a destructive machine. Shantae must find a way to stop Risky.
[edit] Miscellanea
In a small town, there is a place where a fifth form for Shantae can be acquired but only if the cartridge is played on a Game Boy Advance.
To get the Shantae wallpaper in Ping Pals for Nintendo DS, set the system's time to 23:59. (and set the start-up to Manual Mode) Save the changes and turn it back on. Wait until the clock hits 00:00 (midnight), then quickly get into the game. Then, buy the item "Shantae BG" for a few thousand coins.
[edit] Sequel
A Shantae sequel was planned for the Game Boy Advance, and screens resembled a port with updated graphics. However, all news of the game stopped and nothing became of it. It is assumed to have been cancelled. As with the original game, Shantae Advance was developed by creator Matt Bozon on his own time. This may be part of the reason for its cancellation, as without an official corporate backing, finding a publisher would be prohibitively difficult. A DS and/or PSP game may be released in the future.
