Shawn Murnen

Shawn Murnen (born May 11, 1986 in Toledo, OH) is a junior member of the top poker camp in the world, Camp Random.
Murnen is known for being one of the top pocket pool players in the world -- ranking #2 in North America and #7 overall in the world -- as well as the least random player in Camp Random history.

Murnen started his career in the gay film industry, getting his start as a fluffer, he quickly worked his way up to stunt anus in productions such as Tailpipes and Rearends 3, and a stunt penis in movies such as Some Like 'em Small and Thank You For Pole Smoking, where he earned the nicknames "Shawn Dubois" and "Shawn B. Puffinpeter".

Through these films, he was discovered by the Black Cat Bar in San Francisco, a world-famous gay bar. He served as a busboy for 3 years before hanging up the assless chaps and starting the Ace In The Holes poker club in the basement of the establishment. It was there that the hand Q/3 was named after him. Because he was known as "Queen with a tray" in his time as a server, then Queen/Trey hand in poker is now named "The Murnen", in dedication to him.

Murnen joined the Camp Random Poker School in late 2006, becoming the first and only gay member of the club. He was mainly allowed on because of equal opportunity, helping the team cover themselves in case of an investigation. It was thought that his poker play would improve the club, as he bragged about his winnings in his group of "friends", but it was later discovered that his "friends" were in fact imaginary, and he was just winning his own money back -- albeit barely.

Murnen's denial of ownership of the name of the Q/3 has caused a rift between him and his Camp Random teammates, and his ridiculous preflop bets have cost him loss upon loss in the poker world. Due to this, he provided the inspiration for the character of Shawn Dubois, a gay man who struggled with his sexuality and poker game in the movie Are You All In?.
