Shawn Smith is a Seattle-based songwriter, vocalist and musician in several bands (Brad, Satchel, Pigeonhed, Malfunkshun) as well as a solo artist. In 2005, Shawn unveiled a musical project called The Diamond Hand involving many musicians. Forever Breakers is a duo project with Thaddeus Turner. Von Nord (From The North) is Shawn's newest band with core members of Malfunkshun (Regan Hagar, Kevin Wood, Cory Kane) and the lyrics left by the late Andrew Wood.

A couple of his songs have been on The Sopranos on HBO. They are "Leavin California" and "Wrapped in my Memory" Both songs were on The Sopranos Season 5. The episode is called "Long Term Parking"
