Talk:Shanghai Maglev Train
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A word of warning - today I went from my hotel in Shanghai to the MagLev and the taxi was about 32RMB. The airport was closed as there is a typhoon and after being told I could fly tomorrow I got the MagLev back to LongYang Station and then tried to get a cab back to my hotel. Lots of touts charging 200RMB - th elowest they would go was 50 and then I found the official line (with two guys in grey uniforms) and got a cab that used the meeter and cost me 31RMB. But I saw lots of tourists being taken in by the touts.
I had a similar experience in July. Went from my hotel by taxi for a round trip ride on the maglev. Returning to my hotel I joined the lineup for a taxi and got in a cab when the driver wanted 150RMB for the 31RMB trip. Left him and got another cab on the meter. Got to the hotel with the meter showing 60RMB for the same route as the as the 31RMB trip! Hell of argument with the driver and paid 35RMB because I didn't have other change.
- Wo, Wikipedia must be a great place to vent after you get ripped off, awesomeness. Don't forget to add this to a section. Yongke 15:18, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
