Please, this lofty introduction, no matter how well-deserved, should not be in an academic encyclopedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2006 68.72.178.189 (talk • contribs).
[edit] Links and proof!!!
1.Can whoever wrote this article please provide proof that Sheikh Nazim is indeed the 'Grand Mufti of Cyprus and Turkey'. On the Naqshbandi site it even goes as far as to claim he is the Sheikh al-Islam of Turkey!!! The article then goes on to refer to him as the 'Sheikh al-Islam of Cyprus' again with no supporting evidence.
No matter how well meaning you may be just because you are a follower of Sheikh Nazim does not give you the right to post unsupported things on wikipedia. Most people in Turkey have actually never heard of Sheikh Nazim. Turkey is a secular country (so I will be interested to hear how it now has a 'Sheikh al-Islam') It has it's own official religious body and appointed leaders.
2.Can the same person also provide proof that Sheikh Nazim was indeed a close asociate of Mr Ozal? This claim that he was a Naqshbandi has been made by numerous Naqshbandi Sheikhs in Turkey the followers of Sheikh Mehmed Zahid and his student for example.
The whole article needs a clean up with links to support it's claims.
