[edit] Introduction
Shawn M. O'Hare is a mathematics student with hopes to obtain his Ph.D in some area of algebra. He is also particularly interested in the lives of mathematicians that worked from the mid 19th Century to current. Outside of mathematics he has interests in mythology (primarily Nordic, Celtic, and North American), languages, and music. Since the latter half of 2004 he has pursued halfhearted studies in classical guitar, and recently cultivated of interest in the Bluegrass mandolin.
Shawn is also an avid ultralight (occasionally barefoot) backpacker and cyclist. For cycle touring he prefers long, steep climbs and mild descents, as he feels these are the most meditative types of riding.
