Osi Model edit
Just to clarify, the mnemonic I added to the Osi Model page wasn't intended as vandalism. It's helped a decent amount of people that I know to remember said Osi Model, including me, when it randomly came up today. This prompted said edit, as it is a reference to bash.org. Thus, while crude in nature, I feel that it's labeling of nonsense and my berating were unwarranted. However, it's not exactly worth having an arguement over, thus I won't add it again. I just thought I should clarify. Rhaka
Farpoint Media
Shadow - I appreciate the input regarding the editing on the Farpoint Media pages. I didn't create any of them, but having an interest in the topics, I'm been making contributions where I can. I take the point about style as it was meant and I'm working to improve. I'm still fairly new at contributing and I've been paying attention to the corrections that you and others have been making. I can see from your fixes that my last edit was pretty ugly. I'm afraid I was in too much of a hurry on that one as I had a short time to and I've not had computer access for the last week. I appreciate that cleanup.
I never really expected the Mennengasia article to survive and I would agree that that one is not sufficient for a stand alone entry. Still it was interesting, if frustrating, participating in the deletion discussion. I don't really know if any of the Farpoint podcasts besides the main three (Slice, Cover, and Wingin It) are yet significant enough to warrant entry. So I've been focusing on those so far. I haven't even considered making pages for the hosts at this point as I don't think we have enough info on them to even start an article, much less a decent one. Again, thanks for the feedback. Isinglass in Lager mediation case
I quote "The information that beer often contains isinglass is contained in the main Beer article under Beer#Clarifying_agent. There is much information that can be repeated in individual beer articles, such as brewing methods, etc. How much of this information should be repeated on every beer page is open for debate. I think I prefer the idea that a positive statement that a beer is considered suitable for vegans rather than a negative statement on virtually all beer articles that the beer is not suitable for vegans, and for those suffering from gluten intolerance, and that the beer contains alcohol so care must be taken if driving, etc. However, as contents and brewing methods may vary from country to country, or when a brewery switches production method, it may be difficult to say with the sort of certainty that a tag brings that a beer really is suitable for vegans. Perhaps an article, along the lines of the Gluten free beer article, could be written on Vegan beer. SilkTork 13:17, 20 July 2006 (UTC)"
That sounds like a perfect solution. I will drop this case and concentrate on an article about vegan and vegetarian beer/lager. I wish such a statement could have been discussed on the articles by the rv'ing user but some people are less open for discussion I suppose ;) Thanks for your help. Dr Wong 07:23, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Vandal
You're welcome thanks for the revert on my page too, yes s/he was a quick one, it took me longer to revert what had been done than it took him/her to vandalize, I sure hope it's a static IP, don't want to do that again anytime soon - Myanw 20:02, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
No I did not create Joe Abell
Some vandal created Joe Abell. It had some bad stuff in it. When I went to the editing page to put the delete template on the whole article dissapeared. I don't know what I did. The original deletion tab I had on it was vandalism but I changed it to empty. I checked the history and it said I was the one who created it. I've seen lots of articles before I became a user like this.

Hi! Just to let you know, I've added some things to the page on Donald Kerr you created. First, be sure to bold the subject in the first sentence of the article, per WP:MOS. I also added the stub and category tags. If you could, please add some relevant categories to this article. You can find a list of them at Wikipedia:Categorical index. Recommended changes to my user page - Thanks!
Hi - you added a note to my user page in regards to an opinion I wrote about a specific user's actions. First off, I appreciate you leaving the note! I have taken your advice and removed the section in question. After re-reading my opinion on the user I realized I wrote it when I was quite furious. I have removed the section entirely...I could definitely see how that would be seen as a personal attack. While the intent was simply to question the user's etiquette, it ended up as a blistering diatribe. Second, I just want to explain the issue in a bit more detail. While the user did have a valid point according to the WP:FUC policy (point 9), new users such as myself may not be up to speed on all policies yet. In addition, given that at the time the image was not tagged as copyrighted, I really didn’t think there would be an issue. As for consistency to WP:FUC , The user apparently violated the noncompliance portion of the WP:FUC policy by not leaving proper notification and or acknowledgement. I probably wouldn't have cared if this was a regular article that I contributed to or wrote, but given that it was my personal talk page it just seemed a little bit like the user overstepped his/her bounds. This user's page is full of notes from frustrated wikipedians encountering the same issue. Anyway, I am droning on...but thanks again for your professionalism and courtesy regarding your request. Take care, and keep up the good work!--Tbkflav 01:56, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
WP:FUC
Hello again, Abu badali! I responded to your request on WP:AN/I yesterday regarding User:Tbkflav's personal attack against you. The user has agreed to remove the section, however, they brought up another interesting point: You didn't notify them before removing the image. This isn't a problem, but, in the future, please give users a heads-up when you remove an image from their page. Thanks! Shadow1 17:56, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for you attention in this case. I'm glad User:Tbkflav has agreed to remove the personal attack against me from his page. And I'll accept your advice to leave a message to user's whenever I fix something on their user's pages. I did not use to do that because in most of the cases users are ok with such change. Reactions like User:Tbkflav's are not common. Anyway, I'm happy it's all ok now. Thanks. --Abu Badali 20:59, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Again, apologies for my earlier outburst. I think both Abu badali and I have become a bit wiser after this incident. For me, its to double check before posting potentially copyrighted material, and to chill out before I respond to a user's actions. For Abu badali, its to post a note before editing a userpage. Thanks for your professionalism in mediating this, and happy editing for both Abu badali and yourself. --Tbkflav 03:27, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Other user, still WP:FUC#9
Shadow1, could you try to talk to User:Bonafide.hustla in regard to the use of unfree images on his user page? From the history page, you'll see I'm not the only one trying to deal with that. But the used always revert the changes to readd the images ([1], [2], [3]).
This time, to avoid any misunderstandings, I have first contacted him and, after 2 days without any answer, I removed the offending images a left him a message. But he reverted it.
Thanks in advance for you attention. Best regards, --Abu Badali 22:58, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

MLB.com
Another user (or the original's sockpuppet) has joined in the fray over this stupid issue, and I have lost interest in it. They win. Case closed. Wahkeenah 17:14, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm convinced they are just promoting advertising. But I am no longer watching that page, so they can do with it what they will. I already told them they win, and dat's dat. Wahkeenah 17:20, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Lowe's
One article you might be needed on, though, is an edit problem I am having with one user regarding the Lowe's page. He insists on re-inserting stuff about Lowe's supposedly being proud that no one has ever been killed in a Lowe's store. That sounds like a macabre joke of some kind. Maybe it's true, but he can't find any citation (for that and a lot of other stuff in the article) other than stuff people who work at Lowe's have told him. I've pointed out that it's "original research", and that if Lowe's really says this stuff he needs to find a citation, but he says it's too hard to find (which contradicts the notion that Lowe's is "proud" of it, it seems to me). So that's the other stupid debate I'm involved in right now, and it's of rather more interest to me than the MLB.com thing. Wahkeenah 17:27, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Answers
Your quote about not knowing an answer reminds me of a similar quote from Yogi Berra (or possibly Casey Stengel, but I think it was Yogi), not listed on his page, and which I would have to find, but it's something like this, said to a reporter: "I wish I knew the answer to that question, because I get tired of having to answer it." Wahkeenah 17:33, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks re Airimba Wireless
Thanks for fixing the vandalism on this page; I have it watched myself and have twice removed unverified claims of widespread consumer complaints, and once vandalism. I think there are one or two disgruntled customers who are mad that I won't let the text about complaints stay on the page without some sort of reference. --Brianyoumans 04:57, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Ta for the update. I'd just noticed it but couldn't be bothered to do something about it. I'd read a bot should come around and take care of it eventually so I was just waiting. As it was another kind user did it for me instead. Thanks again. Ben W Bell talk 19:18, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello. I am WhisperToMe, a Wikipedia administrator (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:WhisperToMe ).
It has come to my attention that some St. John's School students are abusing their networks on campus and making erroneous edits to the Wikipedia article about St. John's rival, The Kinkaid School.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Kinkaid_School&actionfiltered=history
Several of the IP addresses that made unhelpful edits to the article have been WHOISed and traced to St. John's School.
I have frozen anonymous and new user editing at The Kinkaid School article so such edits will not happen again.
I understand that St. John's has a strong rivalry with Kinkaid, but this does not mean that students should vandalize the other school's Wikipedia article.
Thank you,
WhisperToMe

Reversion of page MIDletPascal
I was trying to warn potential victims about the hidden Trojan in the MIDletPascal software, and I find your decision to remove this important warning very questionable. You invoked as need for citation, but you could have just as easily put a [citation needed] comment.
If you have any doubts about the veracity of my claim, please feel free to download the MIDlet Pascal product and try it for yourself.
If you have Norton Antivirus you will very soon realise that any project you create will produce an infected class file.
If you do not have decent Antivirus your machine will become infected - But then that would be rather poetic justice, wouldn't it?
I intend to report this risk to Symantec, but at present the MIDletPascal site is "off-the-air", so it will be hard for them to verify just yet.
In the meantime I will add the note back in, and also seek to have the entire article deleted.
