Sherwood College

Sherwood College is a boarding school, established in 1869 by the colonial government for the education of British children in India.
It is located on Ayarpatta Hill in Nainital, Uttranchal.
One of the leading public schools of India, it offers an all around education to children of the persons of sufficient means, who choose a boarding school education for their children.
The school has four houses - each student is assigned one at the time of joining. The houses and the school is named after Robin Hood and his Merry Men of Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, England.

- Allen-a-Dale - Colour Red
- Friar Tuck - Colour Blue
- Little John - Colour Yellow
The motto of the school is "Mereat Quisque Palmam": Each one deserves a Palm (prize). The individual house mottos are:

A sixteen-year-old Amitabh Bachchan can be seen in the class of '58 picture. He is the fourth person from the right, standing in the middle row.

The old boys of Sherwood College patronize their virtual presence on the net through their own message board www.oldsherwoodians.com/messages. With more than 1500 members its the most vibrant meeting place for all old boys as well as for the girls from All Saints.
