Shikaoi, Hokkaido

Shikaoi (鹿追町; -chou) is a town located in Katō District, Tokachi, Hokkaido, Japan. The name "Shikaoi" consists of two words. "Shika" being deer and "oai" being "To hunt." "Deer hunter" is of course the translation.
As of 2004, the town has an estimated population of 5,805 and a density of 14.52 persons per km². The total area is 399.69 km².
