Shirakavan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shirakavan (Armenian: ՇիրակաՎան, also spelled Shirakawan) also known by the name Yerazgavors was a medieval Armenian town that, during the 9th century AD, served as the capital for the Bagratid kingdom of Armenia. The settlement had declined into a small village by the end of the 19th century, and the site (which now lies within Turkish territory) may have been flooded by the waters of a dam built on the Akhurian River.
