Shiva 2006 is a Tamil dubbed version of Ram Gopal Varma's latest movie Shiva. Starring Mohit Ahlawat and Nisha Kothari.

Shiva (Mohit Ahlawat) is the good police officer, bent on doing his duty, while the rest of the police force, excluding his friends, are all the villainous cops. This extends to the home minister who threatens Shiva after he punishes wrong-doers, some of whom work for all these high-profile officers. Shiva ends up arresting Bappu, a criminal-turned-politician and finishes his whole gang in a bid to un-corrupt the 'system', about which the home minister warns Shiva.

The action sequences are stylish and the script is tight. It is hampered by the songs except the one during the credits. Mohit Ahlawat shines as the strong silent and intense young idealistic police inspector, further confirming the presence he showed in James.
The movie was bashed by critics for being old wine in new bottle, basically the same gangster/police plot mumbai-noir factory product.
