Showdown! InuYasha vs. Sesshomaru (Japanese: 激対決！ 殺生丸VS鉄砕牙 Gekitaiketsu! Sesshōmaru tai Tessaiga!) is the seventh episode of the anime series InuYasha. It first aired in Japan on November 27, 2000.

Kagome has pulled Tessaiga from its stone, much to the surprise of everyone present, including herself. Sesshomaru, unable to understand how a human would be capable of removing a sword that neither he nor InuYasha could remove, decides to stop attacking InuYasha and kill Kagome instead because he is furious that the Tessaiga would accept "half-breeds" and "dirty blood". InuYasha, enraged at his brother for bringing Kagome's seeming demise, engages him in another fight.
Sesshomaru corners InuYasha on a stone and repeatedly whips him, while InuYasha recalls a past memory where he was deliberated excluded from a ball game - when he tried to join in, one man threw a ball for him to catch and everyone left while he was retrieving it - all because he was half-human. The young InuYasha asks his mother nearby to ask what was meant by a "half-breed," and that Izayoi cried for him, thinking about what his life would be like in future. InuYasha mutters that he is angry no matter what anyone says about himself, but about insulting his mother.
InuYasha finally fights back, drawing his strength from the knowledge that there are humans he cares abouts and wanted to protect - like his mother and Kagome. Kagome suddenly emerges from the poison Sesshomaru attacked her with and, after scolding Sesshomaru with the Tessaiga, hands the sword over to InuYasha. Myōga, who appeared previously seeing that Sesshomaru was after Kagome than InuYasha and him, explaining the power of the sword which is said to have protected Kagome.
Sesshomaru transforms into his true form as a dog-demon and InuYasha, Kagome, and Myōga are forced to escape from within the skeleton of InuYasha's father when InuYasha finds the Tessaiga to be useless against his brother, who is filling the cavity with poison. Outside, Kagome worries that InuYasha will be unable to defeat Sesshomaru and becomes upset. InuYasha, in irritation, tells her to stopping worrying because he will protect her.
Sensing InuYasha's sincere resolve, the Tessaiga transforms into a more superior sword and gives Inuyasha the ability to defeat his brother. Sesshomaru, with his left arm severed, escapes. Myoga, who fled believing Inuyasha would not win, returns with a flying skeletal bird as a means to help Inuyasha and Kagome return to the living world.
Back in the village, Kaede, Myōga, and Kagome discuss the reasons as to why Kagome could remove the Tessaiga while Inuyasha and Sesshomaru were unable to. Having come to the conclusion to must be because InuYasha's father intended the sword to protect mortals like InuYasha's mother and Kagome, Kagome goes to confer the idea to InuYasha. However, she ends up becoming angry and using a "sit" command to make him fall into the river when he denies he wanted to protect her.
