I am from Northumberland, in the UK. I am very interested in Old Germanic (Norse, Anglo-Saxon, Teutonic (in this case meaning lower German tribes rather than Germanic in general)..etc) Mythology, and thus my username is Sigurd Dragon Slayer after the hero Sigurd (or Siegfried) who defeated the Dragon, Fafnir, and bathed in his blood. I am also interested in theology. I am a Christian, though I believe in aspects form other religions as I view them as other interpretations of the one true God, of whom we will never know for sure what he is like. I do however believe in evolution and I was rather good at Physics, including Quantum Physics when I was still at school, though I was not to good at Chemistry and very bad at Mathematics (which is strange as it is connected to Physics), which made it impossible for me to persue a career in science. I am also an advocate of peace (a pacifist), and I have recently become a vegetarian.

I am also a fan of classic (AKA old) cinema, especially the output of the production company Hammer Films, who are famous for their excellent 'horror' films (though they also made many war, pirate and comedy films!). My favourite actress is Danish actress Yutte Stensgaard, who appeared in the Hammer production Lust for a Vampire (and yes, I think it's a tacky title also!), and is in nowhere near as much films as she should be.

My favourite musical groups are Queen, ABBA, The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies, Bee Gees, Iron Maiden, The Kinks, 10cc, The Sweet, Ki$$ sorry Kiss, The Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, The Byrds, The Mamas and The Papas, REM, Wings, Pink Floyd, The Yardbirds, Genesis, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Erasure, The Small Faces, Traffic, The Mindbenders, The Rolling Stones, The Troggs, The Rutles, Blondie, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Brotherhood of Man, The Carpenters, erm..Lordi and many more... As you see my favourites are the older bands, this is not because I am against anything modern, it's just that modern mucis generally does nothing for me in an emotional sense. If I had to choose some 'modern bands' I'd say Travis and Keane are probably the best. Oh and I am not ahsamed to admit that I quite like Lordi also!

My favourite male vocalist is Freddie Mercury, and I also like Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Tom Jones, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney and the great Neil Sedaka.

For female vocalists I'd say Agnetha Fältskog (her early Swedish songs are great), Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Shirley Bassey and Dusty Springfield.

I am currently in a new band, and I am busy working on our first set of songs.

I am interested in Scandinavian culture and I am considering emigrating there, where I hope to land a teaching post.

I am also interested in religion, including Atheist ones (which are religions in the sense that they are a belief system), however I disagree with hard Atheism as it strikes me as stupid to even claim that you know wheather or not God is real (or a collection of Gods..etc..), I also think that Atheism should be criticised as much as the major religion, lest there be a double standard.

It should be noted that I have been a member of Wikipedia for some time and I have contributed as a guest on many occasions. I also used to have another account which I no longer use, and with it I created the Yutte Stensgaard article and worked on many other Articles, related to Hammer Films and Norse Mythology to a great extent!
