Silvan (Kurdish: Farqîn) is a district of Diyarbakır Province of Turkey. It is was the capital of the Merivan Kingdom and is known today for its Malabadi Bridge. Its popullation is 76,000. In Byzantine Times it was known as Martyropolis.
