Silviu Constantin Bălace (born November 13, 1978 in Caracal) is a Romanian football player, currently under contract at Dinamo Bucuresti. He can play on the left wing, both as defender and as midfielder.
Between 1996 and 2000, Bălace changed clubs several times; he spent two seasons at Universitatea Craiova, then one at Chindia Târgovişte before returning to Universitatea for another year and ultimately transferring to Electro Bere Craiova. Despite the big number of teams, the left winger only managed to collect 12 appearances in the first two Romanian leagues. His move to Rocar Bucureşti finally meant some playing experience, as he gathered 22 appearances in two seasons. He returned once more at Universitatea Craiova, but again didn't manage to fit into the team. Before his move to FCU Politehnica in 2002, Bălace made one more stop at FCM Reşiţa.
As the only player remaining from the squad which saw Poli's return to the Divizia A in 2002, Bălace has earned himself a first team place and has only missed one match - due to suspension - during the current season. He is the team's second captain.
