Talk:Sila María Calderón

I removed:
- In a strange coincidence, Calderon made history the same year another politician from another sister hispanic country made history: That same year Vicente Fox became Pans first candidate ever to be elected to be President of Mexico and the first non PRI candidate to do so in 71 years.
Because: what is Pan? Why is there any relevance to the first female governor of Puerto Rico and some fairly obscure facts about the Mexican presidency? Just because both countries are Hispanic doesn't mean that a first in one is relevant in another. Did some commentator connect these two events? Who cares? I bet I could come up with some other firsts that occurred at the same approximate time, if I wanted to, but who cares? Tuf-Kat
Well, I just put that as a comment of interest, because it is true that both madators made history the same year.Just a comment of interest, through...
[edit] Bias?
The part related to Calderón's legacy would be better served if actual statistics on convictions of previous corrupt officials and data on economic progress, as well as the deficit/debt that her administration left behind, were listed. Instead, the current paragraph sounds like something a political opponent would say about her. There's allegedly data on economic progress during the period 2001-2005 on the Puerto Rico Planning Board web site. Proof of the bias is that the actual public debt of Puerto Rico is near USD$36,740 million ($36.74 billion, using the American definition of billion), and not the 2 billion figure mentioned in the article. Allegedly USD$11,400 million of those were Sila Calderón's, $15,000 were Pedro Rosselló's, and the rest are both interest as well as debt from previous administrations. 136.145.192.68 14:14, 7 August 2006 (UTC) She's the worst governor by far.
