Simon Langton Grammar School for Girls
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Simon Langton Grammar School For Girls is a grammar school of around 1000 pupils in Canterbury, Kent. The school's history dates back to the Middle Ages[citation needed], and it became a separate school for girls in 1881 after previously being part of Simon Langton Grammar School. The schools motto is 'Meliora Sequamur', which translates as 'Following the Best'.
The school is 'selective' in its intake, with prospective Year 7 students having to take the Kent Procedure for Entrance to Secondary Education ("11+") examination. Around 155 new students are accepted every year at age 11, and around 10 students every year join the sixth form from other schools.
