The Sinister Syndicate is the name of a group of Spider-Man villains. Patterned after the conglommeration of Spider-Man's deadliest foes who call themselves the Sinister Six, the Sinister Syndicate is sort of the B-team. Many of the members have long storied pasts in the Marvel Universe. The Beetle organized the Sinister Syndicate after countless failures acting independently as a super-villain. Realizing that there was strength in numbers, the Beetle recruited several of his chosen vocation to act as a mercennery group. Their first work for hire was to prevent Spider-man and Silver Sable from capturing the international terrorist Jack O'Lantern.

Subsequent Members
Though this team is currently 'inactive' in the Marvel Universe, the conflict which broke up the team has resurfaced in the pages of the Thunderbolts where a reformed Beetle is a long-standing member.

The Sinister Syndicate is also the name of a group of Spider-Man's villains in the Universal Studios ride, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. This ride is located in Islands of Adventure, in Orlando. In the ride, the evil group steals the Statue of Liberty with an anti-gravity gun, and Spider-Man must stop them. The Syndicate is made up of Doctor Octopus, Scream, Electro, Hydro-Man, and the Hobgoblin.
