Sir James Gibson-Craig, 1st Baronet

Sir James Gibson-Craig, 1st Baronet of Riccarton, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland,(d.1850), (formerly known as James Gibson of Ingleston), was created a UK baronet in 1831.
In 1797 he purchased Haltoun House and its estate, which he proceeded to break up into smaller units and sell off at a profit, leaving the ancient mansion with just 500 acres to sustain it.
He was succeeded by Sir William Gibson-Craig, 2nd Baronet, of Riccarton.
