[edit] Update on "Sixty_Six's" Whereabouts and Status

"Sixty Six" is currently on what should be called a "Wikibreak" due to medical concerns. Specifically, complications from a burst appendix that had him, by his own words, "touch and go" for several days. He's currently away from contributing to Wikipedia, but is expected to return sometime in early April, barring any setbacks or relapses. Until then, please send him any get-well messages via his e-mail.Geoffrey Mitchell 04:29, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About "Sixty_Six"

Truthfully, in this day and age of identity theft and online harassment, my personal information won't be posted here in any real shape or form. What I will tell you is this:

  • Age: ~45
  • Location: Former Confederate States of America
  • Occupation: Website Designer, Professional Photographer
  • Expertise: Photography, Website Design, Computer Systems Test Engineering, Space History Researcher, Broadcast Television Engineering, Commercial Radio Broadcasting.
  • Hobbies/Entertainment Preferences: Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Dune, Comic Books, Photography, Web Design, Space History, Bashing Wikinazis.

As for the source behind the account alias, the IP Address assigned to me starts with those two numbers. During the course of some heated discussions between myself and "Matthew Fenton", I aquired the "temporary alias" of "66" as shorthand. I've decided to use that one for my full account. Simple as that.

Anything more you honstly probably don't need to know. Feel free to ask, but don't automatically expect full disclosure.

[edit] Caveat to the Emptors

When it comes to Wikipedia article contributions you have issues with, constructive criticims I will at least give a listen to; the more rational and logical, the better chance I won't simply tell you to frack off. Most importantly, don't hide behind an obteuse Wikirule as an absolute. I've recently come into conflict with some users of Wikipedia who, for reasons of their own, are obviously trying to control every single contribution not invented by themselves, and wantonly expurgating info out of jealousy followed by using some obteuse Wikirule to justifiy their actions. Again, I'll discuss changes, but things will work out best if you confer *before* excising. Odds are if your case is presented logically, without resorting to rulebook absolutes as your sole justification, your case just might be accepted without argument.

[edit] Morse Code Pages on the Jericho Article

Just wanted to say thanks for the Morse Code pages you added to the Jericho articles. Since they've been removed by the "Wikinazis", as you call them, do you intend to restore them or at least move them to their own article and link to them from the main article? 24.227.251.199 21:59, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Here's the original Morse Code section. Enjoy.

[edit] Morse Code

During the opening title screen, a Morse code message is played. Each coded message relates to the episode to some degree. Sometimes the message is specific, other times cryptic to varying degrees.

"AOV SURPRISE"
or
"AM SURPRISE"
There is some debate on this one, in that it appears to refer to a surprise raid by Ravenwood men seeking gas for two Humvees. However, many Ham Radio operators who are well-versed in Morse Code claim that the code heard over the opening credits is "slurred" and may be inaccurate. "AM SURPRISE" has been offered as the intended message based on the events in the episode.
10 ·· -
-··· · --· ·· -· ···
·-- ·· - ····
"IT BEGINS WITH" May refer to the following episode, which deals with the event at the end of this episode, and advertised "major changes" in the status quo of the series prior to the announced holiday hiatus.

In addition, Robert Hawkins received several Morse code messages in Episode Two:

  • "DELTA CODE DELTA 2 MINUTE WARNING"
  • "SCORE REMAINS SCORELESS"
  • A list of cities received by Hawkins that are either confirmed or suspected as having been attacked. (Hawkins uses this information to create the map in his basement, marking target cities with red pins.)

[edit] Links to Wright-Patterson AFB Website

I fixed the broken links to the XB-42 Mixmaster pages. Seems Wright-Pat's website has been revised, and the domain name drastically changed. Quite a few links on other articles will no doubt need to be fixed as well. Due to time constraints, this was the only one I had time to fix, but feel free to take this task unto yourself :) Sixty Six 14:07, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gong Show Edits

I added a section regarding the show's cancellation, and the debate over whether NBC's use of poor ratings was a valid justification. According to most sources in the years since the show got the axe, NBC cancelled the show because Barris wouldn't "tone down" some of the more racier content he was allowing into the acts, an ultimatum that was placed on Barris following the "Popsicle Twins" incident and Jaye P. Morgan bearing her breasts on at least one occasion.

If this were a fair world, the show would still be on today, with at least one famous gangsta rap act appearing on each show, only to get gonged before their 30 seconds were up.

[edit] Uncle Duke Article Edits

Needless to say, the article for the Doonesbury character, Uncle Duke, was far too sparse with regards to information and general structure. I've fleshed this one out a bit, but the era surrounding Club Scud needs a bit more detail. Alas, that's the one era I don't have archives or bound volumes of, so feel free to expand a bit there if you can. Most notable adds were the issues regarding Duke and John Denver, and how Duke got out of the cocaine bust prior to the 1983 hiatus - the latter of which was resolved somewhat in the musical Trudeau produced during the hiatus that most readers know little about because it's never been put to film.

Just wanted to say thanks for the edits to the Duke page! If there was a barnstar for Doonesbury contributions, you'd have won one already!
While I'm here, I just want to add that it's a damn shame that a small group of admins insist on ignoring your positive contributions and have placed a permanent block on your access. When you consider that two of the admins involved - Will and Alkivar - have left Wikipedia in disgrace, that should have been a sign to the rest of the admins that something was really suspect about their actions. That sort of bullshit is what will eventually get Wikipedia shut down. But until then, don't give up! Keep those banners of discontent waving, 66, and don't let those little power trippers beat you! 24.227.251.66 19:11, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
