Skagen Designs, Ltd. is an international group based in Reno, Nevada. The company was originally founded in 1987 by two Danish immigrants to the United States, Henrik and Charlotte Jorst. Skagen is most notable for its manufacturing of fine wristwatches which feature a signature thin width design.
[edit] Watches
The Danish design of Skagen Designs, Ltd. consists of finely crafted yet affordable watches when compared to other designers such as Rolex, Movado and Swatch. The label found on these quartz watches is “Skagen Denmark” and feature "Danish contemporary design" according to the watchmaker. The popularity of these watches has seen a definite increase in the last few years especially among the young professionals category. Skagen also makes titanium watches with quartz as well as automatic movements.
As part of Skagen's advertising campaign, their advertisements have been featured in magazines such as GQ and InStyle rather significantly boosting their popularity over the past few years [4]. Besides aesthetic features, the rather young company also provides a limited lifetime warranty on its watches.
[edit] Other products
Non-watch products such as sunglasses and “menu” collections, have been marketed under the Skagen brand name.
