Skorupi (スコルピ, Sukorupi^?, Scorpi in original Japanese language versions) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar^[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. Scorpi is famous for being one of the Pokémon revealed before the Japanese release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The purpose of Scorpi in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.^[2]

The names Scorpi and Skorupi are derived from the word scorpion, referring to a group of invertebrate animals known for their poisonous stingers.

The English name Skorupi was revealed at the 2007 American International Toy Fair in New York City.^[3]

Skorupi resembles an over-sized, pale blue scorpion. Its claws and tail have been swapped, giving it two stingers and a claw tail. It evolves at level 40 to Drapion and its complexion changes to purple.
