Background (brief):
I am married to my best friend, lover and wine companion. I was born in the early 60's which puts me at the very tail end of the Baby Boomer generation. I am adopted but have been told that I am of Italian descent. This probably explains a lot of things - passion for wine, Italian food, women (honey, I promise I'll only look... honestly), a passionate personality (nice way to say that I can be rather vocal, headstrong and a passionate lover) and appearance. This probably also explains why I have always had such an overriding desire to visit Italy. When I finally did get the opportunity, I felt totally and completely at home.
Currently, I live in the Midwest of the United States. I enjoy all aspects of wine and feel that people tend to take it a 'bit' too seriously. I am a recreational collector, investor and enjoyer! I believe that wine evokes and creates memories. And because of this philosophy, I enjoy sharing wine with those who can truly enjoy and appreciate the nuances of an ever evolving organism. This would probably explain why I don't have a huge wine collection! I love talking about wine and helping others understand and appreciate wine. In fact, I have been told that my enthusiasm and passion can usually get others get really excited and interested. I found the following quote from my favorite Italian wine maker, Antonio Sanguineti:
