[edit] Who Are The Slowskys?
The Slowsky's are the objects of a media campaign by Comcast Cable to advertise their high-speed internet service. They star in a series of commercials that began in January of 2006 that continue to run today (as of April 2007). The Slowskys are two married tortoises, Bill and Carolyn, who choose to use DSL internet connection instead of subscribing to Comcast's cable internet service, which is much faster.
The Slowskys live in a ranch style home that has a swimming pool in the backyard. Carolyn stresses her love for the pool, citing it as the reason that they chose this particular house to move in to. They have modern amenities including a TV, full kitchen, and furnished bedroom. Carolyn also calls herself "a Sudoku Maniac".
Bill's middle name was revealed in one of the newest commercials to be Matthew. In this commercial, Carolyn jokes that his middle name is "Slow", to poke fun at the fact that he has a deep love for all things slow.
It is suspected that the voice of Carolyn Slowsky is provided by Rita Sullivan.
The commercials are produced by The Directors Bureau with special FX done by Brickyard VFX/Santa Monica.

The Slowskys have a website that is promoted during their commercials for Comcast. This website purposely loads extremely slow, to align with the philosophy of the couple. The website, among other things, offers a blog in which Carolyn and Bill share some of their daily activities as well as some of their odd adventures while promoting the Slow Party.
Carolyn also maintains and actively participates in an online book club that she founded. The book for August was the Phone Book, and the book for September was the Encyclopedia.
Bill's hobbies include taking pictures of speed bumps, drinking decaf coffee, and participating in staring contests.
Bill and Carolyn also participate in Night Club Slow Dancing, Watching the Grass Grow, and Sticker Collecting.
There is also a photo gallery that displays Bill's collection of pictures speed bumps.

The Slowskys are gaining momentum, so to speak, and have even created their own political party. This party, The Slow Party, is based on their website and is has a central goal of stopping the spread of high speed internet throughout the nation.
Carolyn describes cable internet as something that is "rushed" and praises the slower function of DSL. They founded the Slow Party in order to keep the nation's pace in check.
Bill and Carolyn have recently decided to take their ideals on the road and have purchased a truck that they have decorated with Slow Party designs. They are going to tour the country and spread try to spread the word about the simplicity and slow pace of DSL compared to Comcast's cable internet service.
