Gaelic: "Bright and shining"
Translated into English, Sorcha is usually taken as Gaelic for Sarah, Sadie or Sally. The correct pronunciation is with a hard "c". As with most Gaelic, the "h" is silent. An Americanized pronunciation would be "sor'-ka". In Gaelic, it's more along the lines of "sur'-a-kha"
