South Australian Housing Trust
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The South Australian Housing Trust was an agency of the Government of South Australia responsible for providing low-cost housing to people who could not afford other kinds of housing. It was founded in 1936 and was the first housing authority in Australia.
It was part of the Department for Families and Communities from 1 July 2004, and prior to that, it was under the Department of Human Services. On 3 July 2006, the South Australian Housing Trust became Housing SA as part of a major restructure of the Department for Families and Communities.
