South Perth Primary School is a government school that has been operating in the suburb of South Perth since 1898.[1]
The school encompasses years K-7 in the Western Australian education system.
[edit] History
The school was opened in 1898, and celebrated its centenary in 1998.
In 1991, the school adopted a piece of the Swan River foreshore for a school vegetation project, naming it Milyu reserve. The nature reserve was a neglected piece of remnant bushland adjacent to a migrating feeding ground for thousands of birds. [2]
In 1996, the school established a permaculture garden within the grounds of the school. The garden compliments the curriculum offered at the school and provides hands-on learning for the students.[2]
