South Shields railway station

South Shields station was the main railway station for South Shields, Tyne and Wear. The station was located on Mile End Road in the town centre. The Station was closed and replaced by South Shields Metro station in the 1980s. The station building survived as an entrance to the Metro system until the 1990's when it was demolished.
