Southern Savonia (constituency)

Southern Savonia (formerly Mikkeli) is a constituency represented in the Finnish Eduskunta (parliament). It covers the administrative region of Southern Savonia, with a population of 163,276 (as of 2002). Southern Savonia currently elects six members of the Eduskunta.
The constituency is largely rural, and the only major city is Mikkeli. The dominant party in the 2003 election was the Centre Party, which won three of the six available seats.
