Southwark Towers

Southwark Towers is a skyscraper near London Bridge station, in Southwark, London. It is 100 metres tall and has 25 floors[1]. It was completed in 1976 and is due to be demolished to make way for the construction of Shard London Bridge. A date for demolition has not been announced; however, the building's tenants are scheduled to vacate the premise in the summer of 2007, moving to nearby sites in Union Street and Hay's Galleria.
The building is occupied by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world's largest professional services firm. Despite a modern-looking and lavish reception area, the building and its decorations are dated. Lifts in the building are slow and struggle to cope with traffic during peak hours. Nevertheless, some wings of the upper floors enjoy spectacular views of Tower Bridge and the City.
Southwark Towers also referred to three residential towers in Philadelphia, two of which have been demolished on 2000-01-23.[2] The remaining tower is now called The Courtyard Apartments at Riverview.
