Southwestern Oklahoma State University is a public university in Weatherford, Oklahoma, U.S.A. Southwestern Oklahoma State also operates a branch campus in Sayre, Oklahoma. The university was originally named Southwestern Normal School by the Oklahoma Territorial Legislature when it was established in 1901.[3]
Southwestern Oklahoma State's athletic teams participates in the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference. The college's nickname is the Bulldogs and school colors are blue and gray.
The current University President of SWOSU is Dr. John Hays. The current Student Body President of SWOSU is Mr. Garrett King of Binger, OK.
Blanchard, Oklahoma country music singer and songwriter Jeremy Castle played football for Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1993 and 1994.
