Special meaning
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Special meaning refers to the fixed or limited meaning allowed by law to be given to a word, phrase or expression in specific circumstances or contexts.
A special meaning can be conferred by legal permission, not just by a previous prescription or judgement:-
- "4. A special meaning shall be given to a term if it is established that the parties so intended."
