This one reads like an advertisement: "It was in May 1935 that Winter & Company offered their dealers the first modern console - a full -scale 88-note piano, only 44" high...Within a matter of months other manufacturers were jumping on the bandwagon and, within two years, every piano maker in the country was prudly offering a "spinet" or a "console" in their line. But remember, Winter & Company was first in the field..." (p.142, Historical Pianos, Clavichords & Harpsichords. N. E. Michel, Publisher. [edit] Page Redirect??
Many places use the spellings "spinnet" or "spinnit" for this instrument. Please, someone, set up a redirect from those variations to the article. It took me 10 minutes before finding this after using several variations on the spelling. 70.119.170.187 08:45, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

- Why did you have to ask me that? I just saw an amazing looking hand written title page for a sheet music book and it was titled something like Music for the Harpsichord and Spinnet. I'll be damned if I can remember the website I saw it at now. - I found the hand written title page I was talking about. I searched for almost two hours before it hit me to check a PDF file that I'd downloaded from a forum and that's where I saw it. The point I was trying to make is that the image is severely interrupting the flow of reading the page. 400px is an okay size, but the main thing that bothered me was the "center" tag that was used instead of "right". If it is on the right, the reader may continue on reading down the left side of the page, but in the centre, the reader has no choice but to stop reading take a big gander at the image. (It also wastes space on the left and right sides of the image.) - Rainwarrior 04:06, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
