Sport Billy

Sport Billy was a 1982 American television cartoon made by Filmation Associates, initially for broadcast in Germany. It consisted of 26 episodes. It was also shown in the UK, Greece, Spain, Yugoslavia, and other European countries. A couple of years later, the show was shown in the United States, airing on NBC.

Sport Billy (the main character), who is described by the theme song as a "hero from another planet", is a boy who battles Queen Vanda and her gnome-like henchman, Sipe, who want to destroy all sport. Billy is assisted by two faithful companions, a girl called Sport Lilly and a talking dog called Willy. Each week they save a different sport from Queen Vanda's grasp.
