Sportsvite.com is an online community web service that connects people who play sports and allows them to organize their sports activities. Sportsvite incorporates social networking features including the ability to communicate with other users, create a customized profile, and join teams and groups.

Sportsvite combines sports-specific targeted search and member profiles with invitation and game management tools. Members can also keep track of stats and future games, send out email invitations, and maintain their schedule for their teams in leagues or casual pick-up games. Sportsvite is a free service.
Sportsvite was release in beta version in the spring of 2006. Sportsvite has over 20,000 active members[1].
The most popular regions for Sportsvite members are New York City, the Bay Area, Chicago, Boston, San Diego, Austin and Denver.
The most popular sports are Soccer, Softball, Basketball, Football, Volleyball and Tennis. [2].
Sportsvite is a joint venture of [212] Media and OpenEvolve Inc, and is located in New York, NY at 72 Madison Avenue.
Sportsvite raised its first round of capital that was reported to be up to $2 million in February, 2007. [3]

Sportsvite has been reviewed by The New York Times, Indystar.com, The Kansas City Star, Yahoo! Picks, Lifehacker, Thrilist.com, Mashable and other media. Many of these publications positively review the premise of Sportsvite but believe the community needs to grow for it to be more useful.[6] Mashable also noted that Sportsvite took a backwards step when it removed profile photos from the homepage.
