St. Gilgen International School

St. Gilgen International School is a non-denominational, college preparatory boarding school in St. Gilgen, Austria, about 30 minutes away from Salzburg. It was founded in 2006 and plans to open for the 2008/09 school year for grades 6-10, in 2009 adding the 11th grade, and finally, adding a 12th grade in 2010. The school's Founding Director is Dr. Walther Hetzer.

St. Gilgen International School follows the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) curriculum and will apply for certification as soon as the school opens. For more information, see the International Baccalaureate Organization's website.

The mission of St. Gilgen International School is to offer motivated and talented boarding and day students a balanced and challenging international education in a modern learning environment.

All classes are taught in English with German, French, Spanish, and other languages on offer. Intensive English is available for non-English speaking students. St. Gilgen International School puts a high priority in mother-tongue maintenance and tutors are available for this purpose. About 90% of students are international, and about 90% of them are boarding students. There are no Saturday classes and the dress code is casual.
