St. Jean de Brebeuf Catholic High School is a Catholic High school located in Woodbridge. Having opened in September 2005 with about 600 students, SJB is the newest high school in the Vaughan community. The high school is part of the YCDSB (York District Catholic School Board). There was a controversy over the naming of the school, as the well-regarded Brebeuf College School, founded by the Jesuits in 1963, is a twenty-minute drive away. The YCDSB showed a lack of respect for its neighbours in poaching a name in use so close by.
