St. Lawrence Bay
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
St. Lawrence Bay is a village in Essex, UK, located in an area known as the Dengie Hundred, and is next to the River Blackwater.
The village is most famous for its sailing activities, which brings in a number of tourists during the summer. However, one of the 2 caravan parks has been almost completely replaced by housing, severely decreasing the amount of holidaymakers, while increasing the permanent village population. This new housing has been a major issue with a large number of residents, as the strain on local resources (schools etc) is a worry.
There are 2 pubs: The St. Lawrence Inn and The Stone, the first of which is also an Indian restaurant.
St Lawrence Bay is also home to Stone sailing club and a watersports club which brings in hundreds of visitors over the summer.
You will not find a single house in St. Lawrence Bay, planning laws only allow you to build bungalows and chalet style properties to keep the holiday atmosphere.
