St. Mary's School I.C.S.E consists of 4 main buildings and two large playgrounds. It is located on Nesbit Road , Mazagaon. Adjacent to it, is the Church of St. Anne. The school was founded in 1864 and is run under the management of the Fathers of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) of the Bombay Province. It was initially started as a Catholic Military Orphange and soon found itself providing Catholic boys with a sound, general and religious education through the medium of English.

St. Mary's is an all-boys' school.

St. Mary's School, consisting in the main, of four buildings, two ample playgrounds and a basketball court, lies on Nesbit Road beside the Church of St. Anne.

Founded in 1864, St. Mary's School is under the management of the Fathers of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) of the Bombay Province.

St. Mary's School which had its beginnings as a Catholic Military Orphanage, soon found itself providing Catholic boys of the Anglo-Indian community with a sound general and religious education through the medium of English. Hence, Catholic Anglo - Indian are given priority in the matter of admission. Boy's of all other communities have always been admitted, though preference is still given to Catholics.

The Society of Jesus, a Christian Religious Order founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540, has been active in the sphere of education throughout the world, ever since its foundation

In India, today, the society of Jesus in responsible for the education of hundreds of young people belonging to every social class, community and religious group.

Jesuit education is inspired by the vision of Man drawn from the life and reaching of Jesus Christ. It is also based on the principles of character formation elaborated by St. Ignatius of Loyola. It is this which gives Jesuit education its special character.

In general, the Jesuit school aims at the integral personal formation of the students. To this end, special efforts are made:

* to help the students become mature, spiritually oriented men of character:
* to encourage them continually to strive after excellence in every field;
* to be clear and firm on principles, courageous and resolute in action;
* to be unselfish in the service of their fellow men and become agents of progressive social change;
* to instill in then a true national spirit, a deep love for the motherland, an appreciation of Indian culture, values, language, and things Indian, and a keen civic and social sense.

Today, the motto may be translated as "Perfect Commitment" or "Total Loyalty" and sums up all the ideals that St.Mary's wishes to see, it's students devotedly imbibe through education, for daily application in mainstream life.
