St Pius X College is an all-boys, non-selective Roman Catholic high school located at 35 Anderson St, Chatswood on Sydney's North Shore. The current headmaster is Br Michael Hoffman.[1]
Located in the heart of the Chatswood CBD, the school is relatively close to Westfield Shopping Centre and Chatswood railway station. It is operated under the auspices of the Trustees of the Christian Brothers and is situated within the borders of the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay[2] which is under the leadership of Bishop David Walker . The College prides itself on the delivery of a sound education and was ranked 101st[3] in the State for their 2005 Higher School Certificate marks, up from 108th last year. It is a member of the Independent Schools Association (ISA). The College operates as two separate schools:
The Junior School: Catering for boys in Years 5 & 6.
The Senior School: Catering for boys in Years 7 to 12.

St Pius X College started in 1937 as Christian Brothers Chatswood[4], initially going to the Beginner level, with the first Leaving Certificate class graduating in 1941.
A major improvement in the 1990's was the development of Oxford Falls as an educational complex. Named the Treacy Centre, the facility comprises a variety of sports fields and venues as well as a number of meeting places and classrooms.
In the late 1990s the College undertook extensive renovations and rebuilding to make the academic facilities some of the most effective in NSW.
[edit] Sport and Extra-curricular Activities
The school participates in rugby, cricket, soccer, basketball and squash. In 2006, the St Pius 1st V Basketball team won the ISA Championship, taking the trophy from Oakhill College who had retained the trophy for the previous five years. In cricket, the 1st XI team finished as runners up in the 2005/2006 season, attempting to defend their 2004/2005 Priemiership. The 1st XI for soccer also finished runners up in the final to St. Patricks College in 2006, after winning the minor premiership. In addition to rugby and cricket; squash and soccer have recently become popular sports within the College.
The St Pius X 2nd XI soccer team furthered the school's sporting tradition. Winning back-to-back premierships, the team won an undefeated season in 2005, culminating with a 2-1 Golden Goal victory over St Patrick's College, Strathfield in the final, and then again in 2006 succesfully defending their title, defeating Oakhill 1-0 in the final.
The College also participates in debating and public speaking. In 1999, 2000 & 2007, the respective senior Year 12 teams won the Catholic Schools Debating Association Metropolitan and State competitions.
For the past 6 years the school has participated in the NSW Schools Titration competition and has achieved reasonably well each year. In 2004, Isaac Graham and his team reached the semi-finals and gained an overall place of 4th in the state.
