Stadelheim Prison

Stadelheim Prison in Munich is one of the largest jails in Germany.
Founded in 1894 it was the place of many executions, especially during the Nazi period. Adolf Hitler himself was arrested in Stadelheim from June 24th to July 27th 1922.

- Highest number of prisoners: November 9th 1993 with 1969 prisoners
- Executions: 1895 to 1927 14 (including Gustav Landauer and Eugen Levine); 1933 to 1945 at least 1035 (including Ernst Röhm and the members of the White Rose)
