Stadion Magdeburg is a multi-use stadium in Magdeburg, Germany. It has been completed and opened to the public in December of 2006. It will be used mostly for football matches and will host the home matches of 1. FC Magdeburg. The stadium has a capacity of 27,250 people; this capacity will be reduced to 25,000 for all-seater matches. It replaces their previous stadium, Ernst Grube Stadion. The stadium cost 30 million Euros to build. The first match was held on December 19, 2006. In front of a crowd of 13,279, hosts 1. FC Magdeburg came to a nil-all draw against Eintracht Braunschweig. The first competitive match is scheduled for February 10, 2007.
