Standing triple jump
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The standing triple jump is an athletic sport. As with conventional triple jump the event involves three phases. The first phase is a hop, which requires the athlete to take-off and land with the same foot. The next phase is a step, landing on the opposite foot, and is followed by the jump. Competitors must begin the first phase without a run up to the take-off board. The winner is the competitor who achieves the greatest distance out of all of their attempts.
Competitions in standing triple jump are not very common today, but in the past it was an olympic event (in the early 1900's).
