Stanley Owen Green

Stanley Owen Green (1915-1993), was London's famous Protein Man. From 1968 until his death he paraded around Oxford Street with a banner proclaiming "Less Passion from Less Protein" and sold home-made pamphlets. He lived in Haydock Green, Northolt and would cycle into central London everyday until he was 65, after which he used the free public transport he was then eligible for. His pamphlets are still sold today, being something of a tourist attraction.
Green believed people are eating too much protein rich foods, and it's causing them to be too passionate, or bawdy. The solution? "Protein Wisdom," which can be summarized as "less lust from less protein".
