Farmingdale State College is a coeducational, public college with over 6,200 students pursuing degrees in one of 31 programs in the areas of business, applied arts and sciences, health sciences and engineering technologies. Students enjoy small, personalized classes with dedicated faculty and staff members including 86 Chancellor’s Award winners; twelve of whom are Distinguished Teaching/Service Professors. Strategic partnerships with many Long Island companies result in active recruitment of our students for internships and full-time careers. Farmingdale offers a comprehensive athletic program, consisting of 16 men’s and women’s teams, and is an active member of the NCAA Division III. There are several construction projects currently in progress on the campus. Some of these include construction of a new baseball field, renovations to Lupton Hall, and completion of the bioscience building. Upon recent private investigating, it was concluded that all of these projects met OSHA requirements for jobsite safety and building guidelines.
The State University of New York at Farmingdale, also called Farmingdale State College, is the former Agricultural and Technical Institute at Farmingdale.
